Such a formidable phrase like “you are fired” is the worst thing that any subordinate from his boss can hear. Better yet, take action on time.
Let us leave aside the reasons for the rotation of personnel in large and medium-sized companies under the influence of market competition: reorganization, reprofiling, rejuvenation of existing personnel, etc. An ordinary employee is not able to influence them. It will be about those grounds for dissatisfaction that are entirely up to you.
So, we will arrange these signs in order of increasing importance:
10. Constantly interrupts
A very suspicious “bell” when the boss, who had always listened to your opinion at planning meetings and meetings, no longer wants to do this. The dialogue does not add up. But until recently, thorough discussions of working moments were the norm at any time of the day. It was you who were asked how to change your marketing strategy, and now the brainstorming is taking place without your participation.
The reason for this lies in the fact that the thoughts of the leader are occupied by completely different employees. Their opinion has become more important. Impatience in communication, regular reschedules of familiar meetings, and even complete ignore - all this is an occasion to think. Your boss no longer believes that your company cannot do without your contribution. But not all is lost yet!
9. Dramatically reduced workload
Even according to modest estimates, the previous amount of work is much more than what they trust you now? Very bad! This is one of the most accurate signs of impending disaster. New clients are handed over to colleagues, is there no place for you in the innovative project, and from the list of duties somehow several points disappeared unobtrusively? It's time to sound the alarm and look around. Perhaps a newbie is already learning for a future vacant place!
The reason, apparently, lies in the fact that the boss in you is disappointed, as in a specialist, a high-level professional. Such disappointments are very bad for career growth.
8. Doesn't ask about your goals
Lack of interest in your bosses in your professional growth is a dangerous signal. If the company is not interested in improving your qualifications, then there will be no assistance. Paid courses and seminars are a thing of the past. For a specialist, this state of affairs is unacceptable, which means that they are trying to get rid of you in such an implicit way. I do not like? Well, look for a better place!
Other signs indirectly signify the same thing: alienation of colleagues, their unwillingness to devote you to fresh gossip, veiled or direct refusal to communicate. In such a situation, it is better to directly find out the situation with the boss, as humility is not something that will help to keep your professional level at the proper height.
7. He doesn't care if you're okay
Personal communication is exactly what often becomes a decisive factor when choosing a workplace. When a person (and even more so a leader) is unpleasant for us, it is extremely difficult to build a productive dialogue with him. Of course, if you don’t have to choose, then you can “close your eyes” to much, within reasonable limits, of course.
And yet, if before your well-being, the success of your son at school or the career growth of your spouse aroused interest in the boss, and now the conversation does not turn in this direction under any circumstances, then it’s worth considering. Changes in relationships for the worse are a very dangerous signal.
6. Stopped talking
Worst of all, when the conversation does not work at all. For the simple reason that the boss is avoiding you. The secretary invariably says that the boss is busy, and in a collision in the corridors of the office, his gestures and phrases unequivocally say: “not now, then, then!”.
The easiest way is not to sort things out with an unpleasant person, but simply push him away from you. It is very simple, especially for the head of the company in relation to subordinates. But you should monitor such moments very sensitively. Today he does not want to talk, and tomorrow he does not want to pay a salary, does he? It is best to try to find out the cause of the antipathy that has arisen, perhaps it is not too late to do something.
5. Significantly criticizes
Healthy criticism is an integral part of the production process. We all strive to make our business better, faster, better. But not when the nit-picking literally rains down on the head both in the case and for no reason. Worst of all, when the phrase: “your productivity is the lowest in the ...” department, company, workshop (underline) sounds open. It is possible that the dismissal order is already waiting in the wings in the folder of the head of the personnel department.
Constructive criticism is distinguished by feedback. When they do not just say: this is bad, but take measures to eliminate the cause of discontent. For example, they send a specialist to advanced training courses, specify what help is needed to optimize the work process. Criticism without such positive aspects is an escalation of the situation in order to form a definite opinion among colleagues, against the background of which your future dismissal will look quite natural.
4. Records your mistakes
When the leadership set out to carry out your dismissal for a very specific reason, it will be necessary to collect “incriminating evidence” for this, in other words, evidence of incompetence. The first sign: each working error is documented: explanatory, orders, orders, etc.
At some point, when the evidence base is considered sufficient, it will be followed by a dismissal order. That's just not on their own. Not at all. An ugly entry will appear in the workbook. Perhaps it is worth filing an application yourself, without waiting for the completion of the official "investigation"?
3. Carpets
At the same time, both a bad and a good symptom. The bad news is that the authorities allow themselves to point out flaws in their clothes, although nothing like this had happened before. This is very unpleasant, and may well provoke an unpleasant scandal. But there is good news. If you find fault only with clothes, then everything is fine professionally. There is reason to be glad and sad. And at the same time check in the employment contract: is there a special indication of the corporate uniform.
2. Seeks to let go early
It is pleasant to finish the working day half an hour or an hour earlier, so as not to jostle in transport at rush hour. But only not when such a “pleasant” initiative comes from the boss. No boss is interested in having his employees work less for the same money. This is nonsense! The most obvious reason is that they’re scolding you. Today is a short working day, and tomorrow you no longer correspond to your position.
1. Demoted
This is the most direct and honest action that a manager can punish a subordinate. If the phrase: “This is temporary ...” sounded, it is worth remembering that there is nothing more permanent than temporary things. It is quite possible that they made it clear to you: it’s time to quit, but since the leadership has no good reason, only that way remains.
Solving any issue in a businesslike way is the best option. Try to discuss the situation with the manager. And if it doesn’t work, be prepared to look for a new job.
