Revenge in football is a common thing, because players are constantly trying to offend, hurt and provoke rivals. Those, in turn, remember this, and at the right moment do disgust in response, although sometimes even fans take revenge.
Today we recall 10 interesting cases of football revenge.
10. Swedes vs Leuven Kurzawa
The French extreme defender, who is now in favor of PSG, has always been famous for his ability not only to work out on the defensive, but also to score.
So, he is the only defender in history who managed to get a hat-trick in the Champions League match (October 31, 2017 in the match with Anderlecht).
He also liked to score during appearances for the youth national team of France, and sometimes he celebrated goals quite mockingly. In the match for reaching the Euro under 21 against Sweden, Kurzawa seemed to score the winning goal in the end of the meeting, brazenly starting to celebrate it before his rivals, putting his palm to his forehead.
The Swedes did not like this behavior, but instead of fueling the conflict, they gathered their strength and managed to wrest the victory from the French, and when the decisive ball was scored, the whole team ran to Leuven and celebrated the victory just like him. He could only lower his eyes and try not to pay attention.
9. Barcelona vs PSG
In the first match of the 2017 Л final of the Champions League, PSG defeated Barcelona 4-0, seemingly issuing a ticket to the quarterfinals.
After this game, PSG football players began to actively celebrate and “troll” Barca on social networks. Especially popular was the photo in which Adrian Rabiot shows 4 fingers (by the number of goals), and Leven Curzava - 2 fingers, the symbol of Victory.
The French could not even imagine that at Camp Nou they would lose 1: 6 and fly out of the tournament, after which the time would come for the Catalans to tease Parisians.
Neymar in his account posted the same picture of Rabiot and Kyurzava, signing it 4 + 2 = 6, because it was exactly how much his team “shipped” in the return game.
8. Diego Costa vs Arsenal
Diego Costa has always been famous for disgusting behavior on the field: spitting, rude tricks, vile blows, etc. He tried to do this so that the judge could not see, provoking his opponents to open aggression.
So it was in the match with the London Arsenal: Costa saw that the judge turned away, and several times "accidentally" hit the face of Laurent Koscielny, who was taking care of him. The Frenchman restrained himself, but his teammate Gabriel freaked out and stood up. He attacked Costa right in front of the referee and was removed from the field for this, and Chelsea won in the end.
In the next match of these clubs, everything was the other way around: the collected and calm Koscielni acted as rudely against Costa as possible, using his dirty tricks.
Chelsea striker was angry, but could not do anything. As a result, his club lost 0: 3, and after that Diego himself never allowed rudeness to Koscielni.
7. Arjen Robben vs Neven Subotich
In the early 2010s, Robben led the team several times at a decisive moment: he did not realize 2 1 on 1 appearances in the World Cup final against the Spaniards, did not score a penalty in the extra time of the Champions League final against Chelsea and another in the Bundesliga decisive match against Dortmund Borussia ". The defender of the latter, Neven Subotich, then ran up and began to mock the repressed Dutchman.
A year later, these teams met in a much more important match - the Champions League final, and then Subotich received in full. At the 89th minute, he could not stop Robben and he scored the winning goal, and after the match his teammate, Jerome Boateng, went to the upset Neven and began to mock him in revenge.
6. Vasily Berezutsky vs Welliton
The Brazilian Welliton during his appearances in the Spartak T-shirt repeatedly played tough against goalkeepers, but he was especially distinguished against Igor Akinfeev, who, because of the Brazilian, tore the cruciate ligaments and did not play for 8 months.
His teammate Vasily Berezutsky was very angry, scolding Welliton in the press for unsportsmanlike behavior and making nicks for memory.
Six months later, in the next derby, he so rudely and violently played in the body of the Brazilian, that he had to be carried away from the field on a stretcher. Due to damage to the collarbone, he did not play for a month, and after returning he never played hard against goalkeepers again.
5. Didier Zokora vs Emre Belezoогlu
During his appearances in the Premier League, Belezoglu several times allowed himself to make racist statements against his rivals, for which he repeatedly received fines.
After moving to the Turkish championship, he decided not to cheat on himself and named the Ivorian Didier Zokora of the opposing teams as a niger. Karma overtook Emre, first in the form of a suspended sentence, and later there was physical violence on the field.
Before the match, Zokora refused to shake hands with Belezoglu, and after the starting whistle, he and the team began to “destroy”. As soon as the ball hit Emre, he was immediately knocked down and pushed.
The apotheosis was the moment when Didier allegedly accidentally with all his strength drove his foot into the groin of the offender, who could not continue the game after that. He did not allow himself more than racist jokes.
4. Cristiano Ronaldo vs fans of the Armenian team
In June 2015, a Portuguese with his team flew to Armenia and already at the airport, local fans began to scan “Messi! Messi! ”That Ronaldo was very angry.
When the Armenia-Portugal match began, the stands continued to shout the name of the Argentinean.
Ronaldo took revenge in his style: he scored 3 goals and during the celebration he put his hand to his ear, as if saying: “Who? Messi? Well, now I’m burying your team. ”
3. Spartak vs Sevilla
In last year’s draw of the Youth Champions League, Sevilla beat Spartak 3: 2 and, wanting to keep the score, the Spaniards began to draw time already from the 70th minute.
For 20 minutes, as many as 7 players simulated damage, but the Russian players managed to get together and in extra time equalized the score.
When the final whistle sounded, they began to fall on the lawn, as if it hurt them, mimicking the rivals. Those really did not like it, although in fact they deserved it.
2. Public vs Luis Moreno
Panamanian defender Luis Moreno played in the championship of Colombia and in one of the matches on the field an owl landed. Moreno came up and kicked her with force, because of which the poor bird died a day later.
This act caused a wide public outcry all over the world, and even native fans hated Moreno. He was booed, spat on and thrown various objects at him, so he had to leave the country and change the club.
1. Roy Keane vs Alf Inge Rasdal Holland
Roy Keane in a match against the team of Holland collided with him and fell, receiving a serious injury. The Norwegian thought that Keane was pretending and, with a cry, attacked the lying Irish, expressing indignation.
Keane did not like this and he, known for his wild temper, decided to properly teach a lesson to the offender. He served a dish called "revenge" very cold - after 4 years, when Alf Inge was playing for Manchester City.
In one of the episodes, Kin threw himself at the opponent, having hit him in the leg with a run so that he almost did a somersault. The Norwegian did not manage to recover from the damage: after recovery, he played only 3 matches and ended his career.
Roy Keen himself later repeatedly said that he hit him on purpose and did not regret it.
