Soviet humorous films shot by Leonid Gaidai and Mark Zakharov are still considered recognized classics of the USSR comedy genre.
Many generations remember these films, often revise them, and some movie masterpieces were even “taken away” for quotes.
In modern Russia, a group of enthusiastic filmmakers decided to get down to business with the “mind” and reshoot their favorite classics in a modern way. They succeeded or not, it can be seen from today's top.
10. Russian Hollywood: Diamond Hand 2 | 2010
The musical and art project “Russian Hollywood” decided to take on an overwhelming and responsible task. Project managers undertook to re-shoot some of the masterpieces of Soviet cinema classics in a modern way, with modern music performers and actors, respectively.
The immortal film “Diamond Hand” by Leonid Gaidai also fell under the knife of filmmakers. Was it a good idea to include Sergey Svetlakov, Sergey Penkin, Ilya Lagutenko and other modern actors in the star film, the viewer will appreciate. But the reviews are not very encouraging.
9. Caucasian captive 2. History repeats itself | 2014
In 2014, filmmakers set about creating a remake for the movie “Prisoner of the Caucasus” and no, they did not find or come up with anything new.
The film is based on the same plot with scenes well known to viewers for a long time, but by modern actors and realities of modern life, such as smartphones, WiFi and GPS navigators.
They still want to marry the mayor of the Caucasian city, to whom the funny journalist Shurik, who collects local folklore, toasts and folk traditions, for the newspaper, the athlete and not the Komsomol member, but the extremal woman Nina, also want to marry the mayor of the Caucasian city.
If someone thinks that “Prisoner of the Caucasus 2” turned out to be fun and incendiary, then it is better to give up hope at the entrance to the cinema.
8. Man from Boulevard of Capuchin | 2009
Many well remember the Soviet film “The Man from the Capuchin Boulevard”. The plot centered on the amazing and charming Johnny First, who arrived in the Wild West in order to show people what cinema is.
In the modern world, the granddaughter of Johnny First, named Masha, comes to a small town in Russia. She only cares about one thing - how to make a sincere and kind movie about Russia.
But Masha does not even realize that not all the local population will treat her favorably. Someone wants to star in the film, someone wants to take an active part in it, and someone wants to steal the money in store for the shoot.
The director used a very interesting move in the plot. It is not known whether the audience will like it, but let it be.
In the old film starring Andrei Mironov and Mikhail Boyarsky. In the modern film, the protagonist and antagonist are played by the daughters of famous Soviet actors: Maria Mironova and Elizaveta Boyarskaya.
7. Queen of gas stations 2 | 2004
Surely many viewers who grew up in the Soviet Union remember the story of the bright and funny girl Lyudmila Dobryecher.
That same girl, who at first violently wanted to be an announcer on television, then dreamed of becoming a flight attendant, and then dancing ballet on ice. But in the end, the girl began to work at a gas station. Due to the cheerful character and a rich sense of humor, this work was to the girl's taste so much that she was nicknamed the Queen of the gas station.
In 2004, it was decided to re-shoot the familiar plot in the Ukrainian manner. But judging by the ratings on the KinoPoisk website, the idea was not very successful.
6. The irony of fate. Continuation | 2007
Unfortunately, the modern film completely alters the ending of the beloved New Year's masterpiece by everyone. As many remember, the first part ends with the fact that Nadia comes to Zhenya Lukashin in Moscow, and they decide never to leave again. A sweet and touching ending to the film.
But the creators of the modern film decided to spoil everything and released a sequel film in which Zhenya Lukashin nevertheless abandons Nadia, and she returns to Hippolytus. They have a daughter, who they also call Nadia.
Zhenya Lukashin’s son Kostya is born and, by a strange coincidence, Kostya, just like his father, can’t drink.
But when he still drinks in the bathhouse on December 31 with his father’s friends, he accidentally ends up in St. Petersburg on the same street where the young Nadia now lives. Most likely, there is no need to tell the further course of events.
5. Carnival night 2, or 50 years later | 2004
In 1956, Eldar Ryazanov already released a film called “Carnival Night”, which was a great addition to the celebration of the New Year.
In 2007, one of the filmmakers became bored, and he decided to come up with a sequel with the “original” name “Carnival Night, or 50 Years Later”.
The events of the second film continue the idea of a clash between bosses, his vision of how best to celebrate the New Year, and workers.
At the end of the film, of course, Happy End awaits everyone, but the tape is still very far from the success of the first picture.
4. The Return of the Musketeers, or Treasures of Cardinal Mazarin | 2009
If someone is eager to see how they spoiled the wonderful idea of books about the adventures of the French musketeers Alexander Dumas, then watching this film is what the doctor ordered.
Not only did the four musketeers, beloved by many, become very old, they had children who would be seen by girls in the form of the Queen's devoted musketeers.
And although the well-known and talented Maxim Dunaevsky acts again as a composer, all the actors familiar from previous films returned to their usual roles, but the film does not save it. The presence of fantasy elements in it only worsens the situation.
3. Office romance. Our time | 2011
The creators mocked this movie even more. Instead of a beautiful and touching love story that unfolds between colleagues at work, the viewer will get acquainted with the vulgar story told in a modern manner and with an unconvincing and frivolous game of actors: Svetlana Khodchenkova, Vladimir Zelensky and Pavel “Snezhka” Volya.
Moral principles, humorous dialogues that were present in the first picture are completely absent in the second, and this is the main minus.
2. Funny guys | 2014
“Happy Guys” is an old, kind and incredibly charming musical comedy, which was shot in the Soviet Union in 1934.
The starring role is the insanely talented musician Kostya Potekhin, who needs to quickly find a musical group and break into the musical Olympus.
In the modern film, the same idea is taken as a basis, only the role of Bones is played not by Leonid Utesov, but by Ivan Dorn.
The modern film is not so bad, but in comparison with the original, it does not hold out very much in quality and does not leave the same joyful and kind feeling on the soul.
1. Gentlemen, good luck! | 2012
It is unlikely that you can find such a person in Russia who did not watch or at least did not hear about the film “Gentlemen of Fortune”.
In 2012, Russian filmmakers decided to submit to the audience a remake of the masterpiece of Alexander Sery. What turned out, to put it mildly, does not reach, on any point, the original.
The plot remains exactly the same, but the characters are faded, uninteresting, they have little humor. And, of course, despite the charisma of Sergei Bezrukov, he is still far from the level of Yevgeny Leonov.
